Im naming a star as a gift for someone, we live in BC so i want to buy a star that they will be able to see.Which constellation can i see from British Columbia?nice idea, but zero official status. most of these star naming outfits do not even properly identify the star.
as for stars, anything north of declination -30 will be visible in all of b.c. pick up a copy of sky news for canada-oriented star charts.Which constellation can i see from British Columbia?Any northern constellation can be seen in BC, just like in any other part of the northern hemisphere.
And naming a star for someone is a nice idea, but if you are spending money to do it you're wasting your cash.
Only the IAU can name stars, and they will not "sell" anyone a star to name - so the named star will not be recognized by anyone and won't be real.
