I need help with the Neopets Altador Plot in the gears part. (The hunter constellation)?

I don't get how people say the notches have to move to the right. And i just can't find the three correct gears. Can anybody help me? Put ONE rock in ONE gear, then go see how it opens the ceiling. It needs to open RIGHT ONLY. If it opens left, ignore that gear. If it opens right, count the number of spaces on that inner edge of the ceiling, where it opens up.

Now, let us say that the first gear opened up 6 notches. Write that down, and try the next gear.



Let us say that gear opened 4 notches. 6 + 4 = 10. You need 15 notches to open it, so in this example the last gear you need must move 5 notches to the right.



When you find the three gears that add up to 15, put one rock in each of these three gears, then open the ceiling.

Have two browser tabs open; In one have the view looking down where the spots are and the other in the basement.



Stick a rock in a gear and if a gear causes the thing to move backwards, take the rock out and stick it in another.



Find the right combination of ones that cause the ceiling to open clock-wise and click the spots on the ceiling to get the constellation.
