It all depends on why you want them. Only you know that, and only you can decide.
I think Sky Atlas 2000.0 is a far better buy. :-)
Addendum: If you have that much money to spend on a web site, I'd like to know what line of work you're in! You might have a look at how they did the charts for the constellations in Wikipedia: pp3 does nice charts, and is endlessly customizable.
Most people who want highly detailed star charts already have computer programs to generate them, or have references like Uranometria or MSA.Is it worth paying 4400 Euros (拢3200, $6000) to get Wil Tirion to do 88 constellation star charts?Who made the offer? I really don't think it would be necessary. All the data from his previous maps is available and can be re-charted by each constellation, without having to make new charts. That is, unless you want the charts to show more detail.
I would imagine anyone could do it as long as they took care of the copyright requirements. If someone wants to publish this set and sell it, then I would guess Wil would be due some compensation. $6000 certainly doesn't seem excessive even if he didn't have to do anything but sign on the dotted line.
