What are the two differant constellations on the "midheaven" when the constellation "Leo" is rising ?

btw, how about same quesition applying to "Scorpio"?

btw, how do the signs relate or are similar ?

please explain how they might be tied to each other?

Thanks for your answers! What are the two differant constellations on the "midheaven" when the constellation "Leo" is rising ?I read : "What is in the Midheaven when Leo is rising depends on the Systems of house-division. The dividing points are known as "cusps". There are numerous systems of house-division favoured by different Astrologers, dividing the equator, the ecliptic, or the Prime vertical, into 12 parts. One system, the Placidean, ( or the "Tropical Geocentric Placidus", and or, the "Geocentric Tropical Koch system Houses" *), is the most commonly used.

The "Equal House" Division system is the oldest of all systems. Except that in its earliest use, the MC was not incorporated.

The rising degree or Ascendant is taken as a starting point and represents the 1rst House. Each House extends 30 degrees.

In what is called the "Quadrant House" system the MC always corresponds to the 10th House cusp. Using Equal House only very rarely ( when the MC is exactly 90 degrees from the Ascendant ) does it correspond to the 10th cusp.

The MC can appear in either the 8th, 9th,10th, or 11th Houses, according to the time of the year and the time of the day for which a Chart is cast. This is because of the variation in time taken by certain signs to ascend over the eastern horizon.

In every 24 hours all 12 signs ascend over the eastern horizon ( in latitudes below the Arctic Circle ), and each degree of each sign culminates in the South at the upper meridian, ( MC ), goes the full circle until it appears on the eastern horizon again next day.

This is due to the rotation of the Earth on its axis.

In northern latitudes the signs Cancer to Sagittarius are termed signs of long ascension, because they take a long time to ascend. The signs Capricorns to Gemini are termed signs of short ascension, because they take less time to ascend. The opposite occurs in southern latitudes.

Thus, when a sign of long ascension is on the Ascendant the number of degrees between it and the MC will account for the latter appearing in the 8th or 9th House. Whereas fewer degrees will separate the Ascendant and MC when a sign of short ascension is rising, and the MC will appear in either the 10th or 11th House.

Next to the equator there is not this variance between the signs."

This shows how Astrology is a complex Technology, and that there is no simple Question, and no simple Answer in Astrology.

Anyway, in the somehow "incorrect" Equal House system, as we have seen above, the MC of a Leo rising is in Taurus.

And in the Placidean and or Koch House systems, the MC of a Leo rising would be most probably in either Pisces, Aries, Taurus, or Gemini.

For Scorpio rising, in the Equal House system, the MC is in Leo.

And in the other House systems, it would most probably be either in Gemini, Cancer, Leo, or Virgo.

Next, I guess that you had in mind the signs Leo and Scorpio, when you asked how they relate and are tied to each others.

This is an interesting question.

As they are in a square position to each other. It means that the distance between the two signs is 90 degrees.

It makes the interaction not a boring one !

In this case Leo feels a bit more vulnerable than Scorpio.

Leo means light and splendour.

Scorpio means death and the underworld.

Next, take a closer look at the Ancient Egyptians History, to have a good clue of what is going on here.

The Pharaohs represented RA on Earth. They were Sun Kings. Emulating the role of the Sun as such, their survival or "resurrection" or triumph over death meant life and salvation for all the people as well.

But death has a deep and inexorable power.

All the Pharaohs died after all.

The idea of triumphing over death is a naive one. And very Leo.

Take care.
